Finally! An educator taking a stand for sensibility in our education system (“Saint Louis declines invitation to football bowl game,” Star-Advertiser, Nov. 29).

What a refreshing article on Saint Louis declining an invitation to a bowl game. Congratulations to Saint Louis President Glenn Medeiros for stepping up and convincing others that the decision is good for all. Certainly this was done knowing the potential for retaliation for messing with an Hawaii sacred cow.

Our talented young students need to focus on the real purpose of high school.

Congratulations to the players, coaches, parents and supporters. Show your school spirit and stand tall. You have earned your place in school history.
