The media was kind to former President George H.W. Bush, who recently passed away. Family is expected to forget his flaws and focus on the positives of his life.
The press is supposed to provide a full accounting of the major events during his life. But it omitted how Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein returned home after fighting a war against Iran as an ally of the U.S. and found Kuwait had been stealing Iraqi oil.
Bush allowed Saddam to think it was OK to retaliate against Kuwait and when he did, Bush invaded Iraq — starting the first Gulf War, reportedly killing over a 100,000 Iraqis; and provided an example for Bush II, who concocted the weapons of mass destruction bogus reason to invade Iraq a second time to get its oil.
Not bringing the Bushes to justice for their misdeeds helped pave the way for our current mistake in the White House.
