I was happy to read that Matt Pothier was all right after ditching in the water off Kewalo Basin. But I was expecting more from the press after this incident. For example, since when does the Hawaii Air National Guard need private help during its exercises?
And does a Hawker Hunter fighter jet developed in the late 1940s really help simulate anything that the Guard may need?
I understand that the Federal Aviation Administration and Congress are concerned with the proper maintenance of privately owned, older fighter aircraft. How many technicians are still trained to service these planes?
Couldn’t the Navy, Air Force or Marines help out during training?
