On behalf of all the residents on Akeke Place in Kailua, I would like to extend our most sincere mahalo to the hard-working men and women of the City and County refuse department for picking up our Tuesday trash on Wednesday, the day after the Christmas holiday, so that we do not have to deal with an overflow of trash the next two weeks.
They have the unenviable job of cleaning up after all of us, and still take the time to acknowledge us as we walk past their trucks.
Good job and Happy New Year to all of them and their families.
Ken Takeya
