I’m sure I speak for hundreds when I say, “thank you from the bottom of my heart” to those who go out of your way to decorate your homes for Christmas. The electric bill alone is a great expense, not to mention the lights and materials used to create your spectacular displays. Most of all, mahalo nui for the time you took to put it all together.

As you take down your displays and listen to the complaints of your neighbors about the traffic jams and noise they had to contend with, please know that the “oohs” and the “aahs” and the “wows” from those fortunate enough to have enjoyed your creations are priceless. One young friend my granddaughter brought comes from very harsh living conditions, but for a little while, she was in a world of magical delight that she will remember for a long time.

What goes around comes around, and you all certainly deserve the happiness you have brought to us.
