A heavily used crosswalk in Hawaii Kai was “mistakenly” removed by the city on May 9 (“Hawaii Kai crosswalk was mistakenly removed near fatal accident,” Star-Advertiser, Jan. 9), near where a fatal pedestrian accident occurred.
How long did the city know that the crosswalk was “mistakenly” removed and did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation? Just a reminder to Mayor Kirk Caldwell: He is a public servant and the public deserves answers.
