I have been an avid dog lover since I was a child, and still am. I have been working with dogs since the Vietnam era and still work as an explosives detection K-9 handler.
I have been all over with my “partner” and we have two other pooches at home.
Dogs should not be allowed in restaurants for a myriad of reasons. Foremost are those who fear dogs or have allergies. Then there is the matter of people who do not register their pet or ensure it has proper vaccinations and medications.
Cleanliness and odors also are concerns. Then there is the issue of fake service dogs, hence barking, restlessness and possible biting.
I love my pooches deeply, but we respect others and their desire to be separate from the above matters when they dine out.
