A recent letter-writer lamented the alleged demise of the Tulsi Gabbard crusade against gay people and their families (“Traditional marriage supporters betrayed,” Star-Advertiser, Letters, Jan. 22). He claimed she has abandoned her base while seeking higher office. It’s doubtful that group will give Gabbard their votes in the next election.
The gay and lesbian folks have never supported Gabbard and she certainly cannot count on them. Each group has its own family members, friends, co-workers, etc., who normally support its position, since like-minded people usually stick together.
So, if a substantial number of voters are definitely not going to vote for Gabbard, who’s left?
It looks like our presidential aspirant has shot herself in the foot in her attempt to step into the limelight of national politics and neglect her current position. Either way, it looks like it’s good-bye, Tulsi.
