I was reading about the alleged unjust killing of animals at the Hawaiian Humane Society (“Hawaiian Humane Society unjustly killing animals, protesters say,” Star-Advertiser, Feb. 19).
It is upsetting to know that this situation could possibly exist.
Whatever happened to the idea of having another Humane Society facility located in Ewa? The overcrowding at HHS would be alleviated, along with the possibility of the alleged unjust killing of animals.
The word “humane” means to be marked or motivated by concern with the alleviation of suffering.
So why not proceed in building another HHS facility in Ewa and live by its name as a “humane society”?
Alleviate suffering for both humans and animals.
