There is one thing over which no one has control: a natural disaster. It is only natural for the commuters to feel frustrated, but landslides happen (“Bus delays frustrate riders,” Star-Advertiser, Feb. 23).
Bus commuters traveling to and from the Windward side need to be a bit more grateful that the city Department of Transportation Services (DTS) is doing its best to accommodate them.
We are in the second week of facing delays. I hope that the bus commuters have been able to make other travel arrangements if they choose not to commute by bus. Like Jon Nouchi, the deputy director of DTS said, the buses sit in the same traffic with the cars. There is nothing magical they can do about not running through the Pali tunnels.
Also, I hope the woman and two girls who were injured in last Monday’s landslide are recovering well.
