The U.S. Senate, which includes Hawaii Sens. Mazie Hirono and Brian Schatz, voted against a bill that would give babies who survive an abortion the right to medical care, just like the rest of babies who are born.
How can we allow our unrivaled land of aloha to be represented by those who support letting a baby die who is actually alive? We are not condemning women who’ve had an abortion. But we urge lawmakers to do what is obviously humane and provide health protections to the most vulnerable of our human ohana.
We are not surprised, as most of Hawaii local and congressional representatives are boldly pro-choice. However, where do we draw the line and say enough is enough on the assault on human life? Let’s live out the true spirit of aloha and protect all lives, from the unborn to those in the process of being born until natural death.
