Paul Manafort gets 47 months in prison for tax fraud involving hundreds of millions of dollars (“Manafort gets 47 months in tax, bank fraud case,” Star-Advertiser, March 8)?
This is outrageous, as a normal citizen would have been put in jail for 10 years or more for lesser crimes and amounts.
There is no fairness in our justice system. The rich are slapped on the hand, while the poor or so-called middle class get locked up for years. Why is this so? I’m sure people learning about this also will question the light sentence Manafort received.
This is a despicable sentence from this judge. Hopefully, in the sentencing for a separate case, another judge will put this man away for years to come.
