While legislators wring their hands and attempt to propose new bills that deal with the increase of illegal fireworks, I have not heard anything that could actually work toward stopping illegals — namely, how those illegals get into the state in the first place.

If there could be effective and appropriate enforcement at the docks, when the containers of tons of fireworks arrive, then perhaps we would not have to spend our limited time and resources trying to enact laws that are, at best, incredibly ineffective and unenforceable.
