That President Donald Trump’s name is invoked as an inspiration in manifestos of white supremacists here and abroad is very disturbing. He cannot be ignorant of how much damage carelessly chosen words from someone in his position can be. He did not create racism and white nationalism. These things have festered for a long time.
The fact that white supremacists invoke Trump’s name, the president of the United States, should alarm us all. Whatever his beliefs are, he has much in common with the racist white supremacists. Like them, Trump promotes conspiracy theories, disdains facts, believes in alternate truths, lies, and considers himself the expert on just about everything.
This makes him one of the most unfit persons ever to occupy the White House. Let us hope that we all wake up to this fact by 2020 and make sure that he never holds public office again.
