The state of Hawaii is a leader in the move toward renewable energy. Hawaii’s representatives in Congress already are tackling climate change at the national level. U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz was named chairman of the Senate Democrats’ Special Committee on the Climate Crisis. U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono was an original co-sponsor of the Green New Deal and introduced the Woman and Climate Change Act.
U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard introduced the Off Fossil Fuels for a Better Future Act. Our newest U.S. representative, Ed Case, supports incentives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and is closely watching pending legislation. Let’s support their efforts.
