>> 12-by-12-inch printed cardstock (double-sided print is recommended)
>> 1/4 inch Meriken double-stick tape
>> Tacky glue, or low-temp glue gun and glue sticks
TOOLS NEEDED
>> Scoring board, or ruler and pencil
>> Paper trimmer
>> Scissors
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Use the paper trimmer to cut the 12-by-12-inch cardstock down to an 8-1/2-by-11 size. Set the extra cardstock aside.
2. Place the 8-1/2-by-11 cardstock with the side you want for the inside of the basket facing up. Place the cardstock so the 11-inch length runs along the top edge.
3. Measure 4 inches and score a vertical line. Note: If you are not using a scoring board, use your ruler and pencil to mark score points and fold and crease at these points. Score again at the 7-inch point vertically.
4. Turn cardstock so 8-1/2-inch edge is now along the top edge. Score at the 2-1/2-inch point and at 6-inch point.
5. Fold in all scored lines, crease well and unfold. There should be 9 sections with a 3-by-3-1/2-inch section in the middle.
6. Use the scissors to cut slits at the 2-1/2-inch scored lines in the top and bottom sections only, stopping at the intersecting points in the middle.
7. Fold in 2 inches from the left edge and 2 inches from the right edge, folding the 4-inch sections in half vertically. Crease well.
8. Lift all sides up surrounding the middle section. Angle the sides inward and slide the folded edges over the middle section on each side. Glue the small flaps to the middle section, slightly overlapping the corners.
9. Fold the top corner points into the basket and glue to the inside of the basket and tape down.
10. Take the leftover cardstock and cut a 1-by-12-inch strip. Center the strip over the basket and glue ends to the inside of the basket for a handle. Note: If double-printed cardstock is used, cut a 1/2-by-12-inch strip of the other print, center and tape onto the first strip for the handle.
