Gather the family to celebrate and promote the importance of volunteerism during Volunteer Week Hawaii, which starts Sunday with more than 120 statewide events, including beach cleanups, food drives and loi restoration projects.
Kanu Hawaii is partnering with more than 90 local nonprofits, schools, businesses and more to celebrate the state’s largest volunteer campaign — their local take on National Volunteer Week.
The event is “a chance to practice aloha,” said Kanu Hawaii executive director Keone Kealoha, and great for parents and children to participate in together.
It’s “quality family time that promotes strong values of community connectedness,” Kealoha said.
Visit the event website to see the many keiki-friendly volunteer opportunities available.
“Each event will state (on the website) if there are age restrictions, so search all opportunities to find the one right for you,” Kealoha said.
