Pity the poor millennials with all the life challenges described by Will Caron (“AVR will open door to more young voters,” Star-Advertiser, Island Voices, April 3).
Filling out a voter registration form, which every political party and many civic groups are happy to provide, is so daunting! Even harder than getting that perfect Instagram photo of what you had for brunch.
The Oregon example the author cited is hardly inspiring; forced registration produced a voter turnout of only 36 percent among millennials.
Competitive campaigns that provide actual choices for voters will do more to foster civic engagement among all age groups.
