Despite the promises of Washington, D.C., Republicans that their tax overhaul would put extra money into the pockets of most workers, I actually ended up owing $141 more in federal taxes this year than last, even after benefiting in no noticeable way in my paycheck amounts.

Given the murky swamp of rogues that D.C. has become lately, I never expected much personal joy from the “tax cuts” anyway. But this really boils my blood.

It makes absolutely no sense to concoct a deal that takes such loving care of millionaires and billionaires, but affords little or no compassion to the workers who actually could use some tax relief.

There is simply no excuse for this particular outrage that President Donald Trump and his cronies have perpetrated.
