Dennis Callan has it right (“King Street a better option than rail for city-center transit,” Star-Advertiser, Island Voices, April 4)!
He has produced a detailed plan for King Street, showing exactly where it can be widened, often without much construction (bit.ly/2FOJq27).
I hope your paper will print at least part of his plan to show how easily King Street could be used to provide a speedy corridor to downtown.
Stopping rail at Middle Street would give west side commuters a way to get past the worst bottlenecks — the H-1/H-2 merge and the Middle Street merge.
Once at the Middle Street station, commuters can take the bus on King Street to their destination.
