The Maui County website relating to the Kamole Water Treatment Plant says it is the largest surface water treatment plant on Maui and that it is “the primary source of water for nearly all of Upcountry during times of drought. “
It also says that the Wailoa Ditch is the source of water for the treatment plant. The Wailoa Ditch is part of East Maui Irrigation (EMI). So why is everyone saying that EMI is not important for Maui County?
I don’t understand why people are trying to leave Maui out of the revocable permits. It seems many households will be affected.
It seems to me that a lack of knowledge about our water system is going to lead to catastrophe unless reasonable minds prevail.
