Solar power simply makes sense in Hawaii and it is absurd that we continue to rely on gas when the transition should be seamless.

Humans should not be made to feel guilty over their warm showers, but guilt will overhang many if we continue to rely on oil pulled from the ground.

Unfortunately, new developments have been allowed to build gas-powered water heaters in sunny areas. Exemptions should only be given to those who can prove they are unable to get enough sunlight. Anything else is accepting our dependency on oil, a dependency that can only ever end in our demise.
