After reading several articles in the newspaper regarding the rail transit system, I think people should think about what we can afford.
Today the price tag for rail has almost doubled, and there is a question mark as to how much the Federal Transit Administration will fund.
I think the rail should go only as far as we can afford, without increasing taxes. I think the only way rail can go to Ala Moana Center is with a tax increase.
Also, remember this burden is not on us living today, but on our children and grandchildren.
