A recent letter writer suggested how to deal with homelessness: Depriving the homeless of hygiene and other necessities will make them go away faster. Indeed. Let them die sooner from vermin, exposure to the elements and keeping toxins in their bodies for lack of toilets.
I remember many ways of dealing with undesirable people: Rafael Trujillo of the Dominican Republic lined up refugees from Haiti in front of firing squads. National Socialists invented the gas chamber method.
Machines and computers have laid off millions of people, all for more “efficiency” and more profits for the stockholders. But laying people off not only makes them homeless, their buying power becomes close to zero. Businesses fold up, including Sports Authority, Toys R Us and Kmart. The avaricious landlords are still sucking it up but there’s nothing left for the stores. It’s like dominoes.
