The new pavement on the Pali Highway (some obviously interim, some with temporary lane markers ready for paint) is terrible.
The surface is not flat; it has humps and bumps that I fear will pass inspection even though it is not really safe to drive on. The humps and bumps will cause the pavement to fail as vehicles ride over them, and we will soon be back to the potholes we hate. Even if workers manage to flatten the roadway with a final pavement layer, that will be of greatly varying thickness and it therefore will fail.
This roadway should be taken back to the base road bed and repaved properly.
