A driver with TheBus has a challenging, essential job. He or she is the captain of the ship. What they say, goes. Obviously, rules must be enforced. Crowd management techniques, coupled with a professional deportment, are the keys to a safe and pleasant journey for the driver’s clientele.
The city’s elevated railway will feature driverless cars. While human driver of these cars could not provide all the services that our bus drivers deliver every day, they would be there in an emergency: for example, to prevent one train from crashing into another.
Two questions: How sophisticated will this driverless technology be? And what type of security will be provided for each rail car?
Without a driver, without security personnel on site, the transit experience of the rail will not compare favorably with TheBus. Additionally, if you must hire security, why not hire a driver while you’re at it?
