I am not of Hawaiian blood, but when I step back and look at what Abigail Kawananakoa is being dragged through, it’s horrible.
She was born into the legacy of what we once honored. Her wealth is her right and given to her. She didn’t swindle family members or get involved in “collusion.”
As for her sanity, she sounds as though she has all her marbles in her testimony and comments to the media.
It’s the greedy people who hover like vultures, worried if they’ll receive what they were promised. And a generous financial institution is willing to manage her finances for a small fee of $1 million per year. They are only waiting with their hands out, not concerned for her best interest.
Let her spend her money her way, and if she blows it, she blows it. They want to strip her of her dignity, wealth, pride and sanity. It looks like a repeat of history, with the overthrow of Queen Liliuokalani.
