At the Memorial Day Ceremony at Punchbowl, three-fourths of our congressional delegation was there to pay respect to the fallen.
Last week during the Congressional District Work Period, U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz held a town hall meeting; U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono was spotted at a senior center and Roosevelt High School; U.S. Rep. Ed Case had a talk story with our veterans and toured Pearl Harbor to check on the progress of USS Arizona repairs. The only one missing in action was U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who continues to collect her salary of $174,000 while she runs around trying to be president.
Richard Borreca pointed out that Gabbard has missed 26.3% of the votes in Congress in April and May alone (“Presidential barrier grows ever higher for Hawaii’s one-time shooting star, Tulsi Gabbard,” Star-Advertiser, On Politics, June 2).
Is she taking vacation time? No business owner would tolerate an employee like this. Hawaii is losing its voice and seat at the table.
I have three words for Gabbard: Do your job!
