President Donald Trump’s latest immigration law would affect nearly 45,000 undocumented immigrants in Hawaii, and it was highly criticized by many who claim that family reunification is the dominant reason for immigration here.
If we focus only on this matter when criticizing our president, it is not fair. Our economy is booming, growing 2.6% in the fourth quarter of 2018 and 2.9% in 2019. It achieved a 4.2% growth rate for a single quarter.
We need the brightest minds, and I think our president has one. It is difficult indeed, however, for our president to respond to numerous charges and at the same time protect our national interest.
I admire his strength. He is still standing tall in support of his principles in the face of overwhelming global opposition.
