So often these days, we are hearing of yet another pedestrian incident, some of which sadly end up with loss of life.
We are frequently being reminded of the need to drive more attentively. However, it is not solely the responsibility of us as drivers. As children, we have all been taught the importance to stop, look left and right, and listen for moving vehicles. This has not changed.
I am finding, more often than not, pedestrians are proceeding to cross streets without looking, often with their attention focused elsewhere. So this is intended as a reminder that pedestrian safety is a two-way street. Whether you are a driver or a pedestrian, please proceed with caution. It’s always a good idea to make eye contact before stepping in front of a moving vehicle.
