The nation’s history is just that. It’s history. We do not need to continue to bring up past problems or injustices in this country. It’s history.
We’ve learned from history. We’ve grown as a people and as a nation. The original American flag with 13 stars — it’s not racist or unjust. It symbolized our young nation.
Regarding injustices to Native Americans: We’ve learned and grown past that, and we continue to learn. Our history of slavery: We are all sorry about injustices or unfairness, but the majority of the country has learned and grown past it — but we’ll never forget.
And in Hawaii, we’ve learned so much from history and have grown stronger for that. What and how things happened decades ago and how some might perceive it do not define who we as Americans really are. When will these so-called minority groups stop their screaming and yelling and help us as a nation to move forward?
