Long-haul flights more susceptible to turbulence, expert says

Airplanes flying at high altitudes can encounter clear air turbulence or air pockets that happen around jet streams and where air is traveling in different directions. It can happen with little or no warning and at times when there are no clouds present. It cannot be detected by aircraft radar.
