The news media present one-sided views of the protesters, with pictures of kupuna and children in protest, escalating the problems on Maunakea.
The “peaceful” actions of the protesters as described by their spokesman are not peaceful.
Their actions, with many supporters, present a view of intimidation, demanding compliance with their wishes — like a bully who will, in all likelihood, succeed in what he set out to do.
The media coverage continues for days now and, when the protesters feel their cause is wavering, we have people doing things that are not helping their cause.
We have people blocking traffic on the highways. We have enough traffic problems on Oahu. People will get frustrated and angry because of the actions of a few.
I support the ideals of the protesters. However, they broke the law and are not complying with orders given.
Maunakea is a volcano. So is Diamond Head, Punchbowl and Hanauma Bay.
