Your “Big Q” notes that “this is not a scientific poll.” Exactly.

Obviously, the people of the West Side of Oahu are but a minority of your readership (“What should be done about the PVT landfill’s proposal to expand?” Star-Advertiser, Big Q, Sept. 9). The rest of Oahu would prefer the PVT landfill expansion not be housed in their community, so would prefer “Favor; expand at Nanakuli.”

A clearer poll should include only the West Side, whose residents are subjected to this unjust landfill expansion. Frankly, we’re tired of housing the rest of Oahu’s opala. Would you favor building a landfill in your backyard? Star-Advertiser, that is a more “fair and balanced” poll worthy of this paper.
