                                Beginning in 2016 a coalition of public and private organizations has been conducting regular helicopter and ground surveys on Oahu to look for rapid ohia death. Above, the state Department of Forestry and Wildlife conducted digital surveys of possible trees infected by rapid ohia death over Kauai in 2018.
