Removal of lead-contaminated soil beneath Kalihi street begins

                                Crews from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have begun removing the lead-contaminated soil beneath Factory Street, near North King Street. The contaminated soil is being placed in containers that will be shipped to the mainland for disposal. The work is expected to take five to seven weeks.
