Silicon Valley or Hawaii? Austin, Texas, or Hawaii? For big thinker Larry Ellison, it’s a no-brainer: Hawaii, and specifically, Lanai.
The billionaire co-founder of Oracle Corp. told his employees in a memo that “I’ve moved to the State of Hawaii and I’ll be using the power of Zoom to work from the island of Lanai.”
Ellison is among tech giants pulling up stakes from high-tax California to relocate their businesses to Texas. But as the pandemic has shown, the wonders of tech are enabling more folks to live in, and work from, one spot — and there’s little doubt that Hawaii is a mighty fine spot.
