If state schools Superintendent Keith Hayashi is smart, and I don’t know if he is or isn’t, he would ask the state Board of Education to remove the $10,000 pay increase (“Pay raise, expanded evaluation proposed for state schools chief,” Star-Advertiser, Dec. 7).
He would gain so much goodwill and extra points from his teachers, principals and the general public that it would be worth so much more to him than the $10,000 raise in pay.
