Ranger John S. Mohlhenrich and his family gathered at the entrance to Maui’s Haleakala National Park, which on July 1 will officially become the 30th such separate park in the system. In the past it has been part of Hawaii National Park.

The thought of parting with his champion steer, Tommy, moves Edward Robello to tears despite the fact he won the Steer Show’s $2,000 Grand Prize at Honolulu Stadium. Jack Larsen, who made the award for the Dole Corp., looks on. But Edward is happy again because he now has another Hereford steer that will be displayed at this year’s show in October at Saddle City in Waimanalo.

These are three members of “Rennaerobics,” which was the fourth-place winner for the Amateur Athletic Union’s team aerobic dance championship at the Viva Health and Fitness Fair. The nine-member Rennaerobics team from Waianae competed against first-place winner Powerdrill; Tropical Blends, second place; and Energy Plus, third place.
