The Honolulu Police Department confiscated 74 gambling machines and $38,000 in cash and shut down four illegal gambling operations on Hausten Street in Moiliili Monday night.
It was the second time HPD has served multiple search warrants and shut down gambling businesses on Hausten Street since July.
At about 6:30 p.m. Monday, HPD’s Narcotics/Vice Division Gambling Detail, District 7 Crime Reduction Unit, District 1 Crime Reduction Unit, Forfeiture Detail, Complaints Detail, Human Trafficking Unit Detail, Airport Operations Group, Emergency Medical Services and Specialized Services Division, executed four simultaneous search warrants on Hausten Street, according to HPD.
Police officers seized a total of 74 gaming machines, more than $38,000 in cash, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
“We will continue to identify these illegal gambling operations, take appropriate enforcement action and hold accountable the people responsible for organizing and profiting from them,” said Maj. Jerome Pacarro of the Narcotics/Vice Division, in a statement.
“At the same time, we recognize that some individuals may need help and we want them to know services and resources are available.”

HPD remains committed to addressing illegal gambling operations that negatively impact the safety and quality of life in our communities, police said.
On July 8, HPD took more than $12,000 and shut down three illegal gambling operations operating out of the same apartment complex on Hausten Street in Moiliili.
At about 2:30 p.m. on July 8, HPD’s Narcotics/Vice Division served two search warrants at separate illegal game rooms operating within the same apartment complex at 931 Hausten St., according to police.
During the searches, police “corroborated prior intelligence and identified a third illegal game room” operating within the complex. Officers shut down three illegal game rooms within the same apartment complex.
HPD’s Narcotics/Vice Gambling Detail, with the assistance of District 6 and District 7 Crime Reduction Units, Forfeiture Detail, AOG Detail, EMS personnel and Specialized Services Division, recovered 57 gaming machines, more than $12,000 in cash and illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to HPD.
