The five-year anniversary party at Hapa Grill will feature musical performances and good food.

FAMILY FARE: While the kids are out of school, Denny’s wants to make summer more affordable, 24-7. That means offering value menu specials as low as $2 for cooling off with soda floats, including a Fourth of July Red, White and Blueberry Float made with a scoop of strawberry ice cream, Sprite (it’s actually clear, but why quibble?) and flavors of blueberry and pomegranate. There are also $2 late-night specials of biscuits and gravy with hash browns or an egg; stack of pancakes; or cheese fries. And a classic burger with fries runs $6. …

KAPOLEI CELEBRATION: Hapa Grill is marking its fifth anniversary and is inviting its Kapolei neighbors to drop in from 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow for a party that includes performances by John Feary, Kamuela Kahoano, Sheila Marie, Pas De Deux dance studio and 808 Breakers, and of course, food. There will be regular dinner service inside, and Hapa’s fried noodles and teriyaki beef plates will be sold outside for $5. Try to look good, because Kutmaster Spaz will be there with his "Dis-N-Dat" TV crew to film the event. They’re at The Marketplace at Kapolei, 590 Farrington Highway. …

FREE ON THE 4TH: Doubletree Alana Hotel brings new meaning to "freedom," adding to the day’s fireworks and festivities an all-American treat of free, fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies to anyone who walks into the hotel. Simply walk into the Doubletree Alana Hotel between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Sunday (July 4) to receive a cookie, at one per person, while supplies last. The hotel is known for greeting guests at check-in with its chocolate-chip cookie. The hotel is at 1956 Ala Moana Blvd. …

TASTING TUESDAYS: Brasserie Du Vin is introducing a number of Tuesday night specials. Enjoy half-off bottles of wine (excluding reserve bottles) from 6 p.m. to closing on July 6 and July 27. On July 13, reserve your place at a $20 wine tasting that includes six to eight different wines and a cheese-and-fruit platter. A half-off appetizer menu will also be available to wine-tasting guests. Reserve at 545-1115. Du Vin is at 1115 Bethel St., across from Hawaii Theatre.
