Honolulu’s Michelle Wie fired a final-round 72 today to finish tied for second with Stacy Lewis (67) at the CN Canadian Women’s Open played at the Hillsdale Golf & Country Club in Mirabel, Quebec.

Wie’s four-day total of 12-under 276 left her one shot shy of Brittany Lincicome’s (70) total of 13-under 275. Lincicome parred the final six holes to secure the victory.

After shooting a 1-over 37 on the front nine, Wie birdied the par-4 13th and par-3 15th to draw even with Lincicome, but a bogey at the par-4 16th proved to be her undoing as she parred the closing two holes. Lewis had the best closing round of the three with five birdies, but after going to 12 under with a birdie at the 12th, she could manage only pars the rest of the way in.

Wie earned $177,981 with her runner-up finish. The Punahou graduate was the defending champion, but the tournament was played on a different course last year. She was trying to become the first back-to-back winner of Canada’s national event since Pat Bradley turned the trick in 1985-86.

For the year, Wie has earned $533,846. She has finished second twice this LPGA Tour season and has five top-10 finishes in 14 events.
