‘CABARET’ OPENS BIG AT DHT 1. Diamond Head Theatre staff member Kathryn Mariko Lee, left, welcomed board members Kelly Sanders, Sharon McPhee and Wendell Wo and theater supporter Paul Unkrur to the pre-show reception for the season-opening production of “Cabaret” Sept. 27 outside the theater. Wo noted that although they had arrived a few minutes early for the 7 p.m. party, many others were already there. “People come early for free food, free alcohol or naked women,” Unkrur replied, adding that the party had two out of three.

2. DHT artistic director John Rampage, left, director and choreographer of the new show, talked with board members Indru Watumull and Mariko Lyons and DHT member Gulab Watumull during intermission. The show is the eighth production of “Cabaret” that Rampage has been involved with as an actor, choreographer or director, and his inside-out understanding of it makes the current DHT production “don’t miss” musical theater.

Tseu, Mahealani Richardson and Patricia Lee before a parade of models displayed the simple yet striking designs of her new holiday collection Sept. 28 at Waialae Country Club. Richardson emceed the luncheon fashion event, Lee provided the play-by-play commentary for the fashion show and Tseu was the show sponsor.
