Brisk trades on tap through midweek

Brisk trade winds will continue through Wednesday thanks to high pressure north of the Hawaiian Islands, according to the National Weather Service.

High clouds will move over the state through Sunday, with light showers favoring windward and mauka areas.

East winds of 15 mph are expected tonight, with winds of 10 to 20 mph due tomorrow.

The trade winds are expected to produce choppy surf along east-facing shores.

A small craft advisory is in effect through 6 p.m. Sunday for Maalaea Bay, Paiolo and Alenuihaha channels, and waters south of Hawaii island.
