'ANNIE' ACTORS, SPONSORS CELEBRATE OPENING AT DIAMOND HEAD THEATRE | 1. Diamond Head Theatre Artistic Director John Rampage, center, welcomed Bill Hinshaw, left, his wife, former University of Hawaii at Manoa Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw, DHT board member Carolyn A. Berry Wilson and her husband, Dave Wilson, to the Dec. 7 opening-night sponsors' reception for "Annie." Rampage directed DHT's last production of "Annie" in 2001 but opted out this year so he could concentrate on the Christmas season commitments of Diamond Head Theatre's Shooting Stars youth group.

5. Drew Tandal (Rooster Hannigan) celebrated with Kira Stone (July/Annie alternate), left, Autumn Ogawa (Grace Farrell) and Kiara Reeves (Molly). Tandal's superb multifaceted performance is his third in a row at DHT; he was one of the most memorable performers in the spring production of "Titanic" and a show-stopper as a centaur in the problematic summer staging of "Xanadu." Ogawa is radiant in a secondary role, and Reeves adorable as the youngest orphan. See Stone star as Annie Thursday, Saturday and Dec. 29 (Call 733-0274 for show times and tickets).

4. "Annie" cast member Lisa Konove (Mrs. Hannigan), center, talked with board member Mariko Lyons, left, and Margo Bourland at the public "meet and greet" after the show. Konove's skill at playing comic villains has been a key ingredient in the success of several recent DHT productions and she's at the top of her game playing the villain in "Annie."
