President Barack Obama walks out of Island Snow after paying a visit to get shave ice during a family vacation on Sunday in Kailua.
President Barack Obama spent a day at the beach, followed by his annual shave ice treat and dinner in Kahala on Sunday.
The day ended at about 10:30 p.m., aftr a more than four-hour dinner at Hoku’s restaurant in the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
Before dinner, Obama wore flip-flops, sunglasses, dark swimming shorts and a Chicago White Sox baseball hat as he and his daughters ate shaved ice treats under a tree.
Obama later shook hands with people gathered outside the Island Snow shaved ice shop in Kailua. When asked what flavor he had ordered, Obama replied “Melon, cherry and lime.”
Obama stopped for about 20 minutes at Island Snow before his motorcade headed back to the family’s vacation home.
Island Snow has been a regular stop for the family during their annual vacation in Hawaii.
The store has a shaved ice concoction called the “Snowbama” that costs about $4. The mixture is lemon, lime, cherry and passion guava flavored syrups poured over a cone of shaved ice.
Many people lined up outside the store to get a glimpse of Obama, who spent several hours at a public beach earlier in the day.

Heavy rain began to fall just as the president and his family arrived at the beach at Bellows Air Force Station late Sunday morning. But the sun came out a short time later, making for a perfect Hawaii beach day.
Both the president and Michelle Obama were spotted in the motorcade as it headed toward the beach in Waimanalo.
Many people waved as the motorcade wound its way toward the beach spot where the first family spent the afternoon.

Well, I for one am glad that the Obama’s get some family time. This was the best Christmas ever. We had 13 family members from all over the mainland and then my son and I did two boat dives yesterday. I am very appreciative and I hope the O’s are enjoying themselves. The time goes by so quickly, one really needs to savor it.

For the last seven years the presidential family has made it a yearly pilgrimage to Hawaii, costing the taxpayers, federal government, and local state and county government hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend their “Christmas Holiday in Hawaii”. Not to mention the traffic jams, road closures and hours of delays caused by this yearly presidential vacation.
Before this annual pilgrimage paid for by the taxpayers, WHERE DID THE OBAMA FAMILY SPEND THEIR HOLIDAYS?
Well, on the brighter side it is the last time this 1st Family will be invading your precious domain so tolerance is in order. Just think in about another week they will be on their way home out of your hair. By the way, did not vote for him twice.
