MIAMI » Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson is effectively ending his campaign after a poor finish across the Super Tuesday primaries.
Carson said in a statement today that he sees “no path forward” to the nomination and says he will not attend Thursday’s GOP debate in Michigan.
Armstrong Williams, Carson’s longtime business manager, told the Associated Press it’s “just the reality” that “there’s only one candidate in this 2016 election on the GOP side, and his name is (Donald) Trump.”
Williams added that Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz also “have no path” and should drop out.
It was not immediately clear whether Carson will officially suspend his campaign, but Williams says he no longer will actively seek votes.
Another Carson aide, Larry Ross, said Carson will offer “more details” when he speaks Friday at the CPAC gathering, an annual conservative confab.

Perhaps he could be Trumps running mate?…….highly unlikely.
At first I was for him……to bad he went into a death spiral……perhaps he’ll write a book and recoup some money to pay off his campaign debt?

Trump likes him. Very possible if Trump is the GOP nominee Carson is the running mate.
not likely at all. Drumpf has already said he’d pick a Washington insider as a running mate, someone who could get things through Congress.
Yes I heard that. I don’t trust Trump’s trigger finger on the button. Need someone calm and collected like Carson.

don’t think so. Rubio is establishment. Carson wasn’t. Most of his votes will probably go to Trump as Trump is also viewed as not of the established parties.
Please explain how someone becomes establishment part way thru their first term.
What a shame. Dr. Carson is a real gentleman with a record of success as a skilled surgeon. Compare that to the current president whose only claim to fame was as a rabble rouser…uhh, I mean a community organizer.
And probably the only truly honest man running for President in a very long time. I am SAD! Been a supporter since the National Prayer Breakfast a couple of years ago. An honorable man is what we need in the White House.
Dr. Carson did something that no one has done on a national stage before. He proved that it is possible to be a neurosurgeon without having to know anything about anything else.
Have to correct the record for you. In addition to knowing a fair amount about neurosurgery, Dr. Carson also knew that Barry Care would be an economic disaster and force americans into plans they neither want nor can afford.
I’ll admit he said some weird things, but you might want to do some research before putting your foot in your mouth.
