Before or after a meal at ‘Ai Love Nalo, head next door to the Waimanalo Market Co-op, home to products made, sourced within or related to the Waimanalo ahupuaa.

Products range from jewelry and clothing to tote bags and, of course, food, from fresh products to take-home edibles. These include Nina Cocina’s kalo hummus ($6), pesto pasta salad ($6) and gluten-free grilled veggie pesto wraps ($10.50), and Hale I‘a Hawaii’s poke bowls and poke hoagies.

The poke made by Hale I‘a Hawaii owners Lance and Lucie Kaanoi is easily the best I’ve tasted in a while, with fish so fresh — straight from the fish market every morning — it doesn’t need any kind of masking aioli or marinade. The recent market price for ahi poke was $22 per pound.
