2 disputes over isle murals show potential legal and PR pitfalls

A woman walked past the mural-adorned walls of a building at 746 Auahi St. in Kakaako on Sunday. Landowner Kamehameha Schools and a Pow! Wow! Worldwide mural-painting organizer say they have agreements in place covering control of the Kakaako artwork. Two recent disputes over murals elsewhere on Oahu have demonstrated issues that can arise over public art.
