A 49-year-old Ewa Beach man charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a minor is scheduled to be arraigned at Circuit Court.
Ziggy Z. Puaa is set to appear in court Thursday after an Oahu grand jury returned an indictment in February charging him with one count of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree sexual assault involving a girl under age 16.
According to court documents, the victim’s mother reported to police in February that her 15-year-old daughter’s school counselor notified her that her child was sexually assaulted.
Big Isle driver dies after being hit by 2 cars
A 41-year-old woman has died following a three-vehicle crash near the 83-mile marker of Queen Kaahumanu Highway in North Kona on Monday night, according to the Big Island Police Department.
Police responded to a 10:39 p.m. call and determined that the driver of a 2002 Volvo sedan traveling south rear-ended a 2014 Volkswagen sedan going in the same direction. The Volkswagen spun and crossed to the other side, where it was then rear-ended by a 2013 Honda sedan going northbound.
The driver of the Volkswagen, identified as Trina Walker of Holualoa, was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead early Tuesday morning.
